Burlap chic
All of those premium coffee beans arrive at Pierce Brothers Coffee Roasters in sturdy burlap bags which brothers Sean and Darren recycle in many different ways. "We turn them into reusable supermarket bags because they've got great logos on them and they're durable as all get out," says Darren Pierce. "We have fishermen that use them, we've got farmers that use them. We donate them to nurseries because they can wrap plant roots with them, and we give them away online to people who want burlap bags. So they never go into the landfill."

It's clearly green
Those clear plasic containers for Bart's tasty salads are as 'green' as the lettuce inside, says Alan Sax, owner of Bart's Cafe. "They are made out of a corn-based resin that breaks down when it get into the landfill. So our containers make it easy for customers to see our delicious salads, as well as being kind to the earth."
