Dearest Friends, Tonight's final Christmas Spectacular is lovingly dedicated to my mom, dad and brother Jim. They have been my life's teachers and inspiration. It has been said that "time flies when you are having fun". Where did the time go? From a simple band of 12 singers in Holyoke 20 years ago, to a 160 member family, this singing group has enjoyed an incredible and unique musical history. Please let me try to say thank you as best as I can. To all of the 160 talented DKS men women and children I say BRAVO! You have accomplished something special that has never been done before and will never come again. Sure, there are other singing groups, but none like you. Your talent, dedication and commitment to use your voice, your love of music, to help others less fortunate than yourself is awe inspiring. It is my hope that our seasoned veteran singers see/hear a bit of themselves in the voices of the young. Your legacy will live on for years to come as you have been a musical teacher, a friend and a role model to the singers of tomorrow. To my young performers, it is my hope that you will continue to use your God-given gift of song to help others in need. I hope you have learned from the older singers how music can keep you young, how it can bring joy to the broken-hearted, and how it can help you build friendships that will outlast a lifetime. THANK YOU! To my Christine, Mary and Shannon... who helped and loved me so that I could follow a dream that I have had inside me ever since I was young. It is only through their love, support and self-sacrifice that any of this has been possible. If we thank anyone here tonight...it starts with them. THANK YOU! To our MC Dave Madsen. He has been a pillar of class and style. We are so honored to have him as our spokesperson and our friend. He has such a special way with words that make us laugh and cry cry and feel alive. THANK YOU! To our musicians who make such beautiful music. We thank you for sharing your talents with us and inspiring many of us (especially me) to become better players. THANK YOU! To the men and women behind the scenes. It is through your work that we shine. You are often unmentioned but never forgotten. THANK YOU! Finally to the Kelleher Family... Paul, Alex and especially Anne. Throughout these wonderful years, it has been this family who has kept me on target and kept this singing group on track, always reaching for the next, higher goal. We all thank Anne for her tireless efforts on behalf of all of us; for her incredible talent as a singers and here commitment to excellence and quality in EVERYTHING that she does. Anne was always there for the singers and for me. I am most proud of our enduring friendship that began through music so many years ago, the song Cabaret to be exact. She continues to be a fantastic teacher and mentor to all of her students and an inspiration to all of us... THANK YOU ANNE for watching out for me... ALWAYS!
