the 'husk' of the beans or chaff This is the chaff, the "skin" of the bean if you will, that our air roasting process filters off your coffee beans, so you get a much smoother, less bitter taste in the resulting brew.  With other roasting processes, the beans don't loose their chaff, and it ends up getting burned onto the bean, resulting in a more bitter tasting coffee.
Because this chaff is blown off during our air roasting process, the resulting beans are much shinier and clean, thus our coffee is known as the "the clean bean™."
