More on Java
We enjoyed Rob Weir's "Java Jive" article (Oct 5, 2006) and we wholeheartedly agree that "The Pioneer Valley has a vital cafe scene. ..." We were surprised to note, however, the omission of Pierce Bros. Coffee (formerly known as Java Hut Roasters), as they have been a Valley staple (and local, family-owned business) for more than a decade.  Their fantastic Fogbuster brew is famous and advertised on bumpers throughout the area.  Since their retail outlet in Sunderland closed, loyal fans flock to Loose Goose in Amherst, GoNOMAD in South Deerfield, meanwhile Dunkin' Donuts keep cropping up like weeds.  It must've been an oversight, as Pierce Bros. truly do brew some of the best java around.  Fogbuster helped us earn our degreess from our beloved UMass Amherst, and it is also best enjoyed with the latest edition of the Advocate -- true "Happy Valley paradise.
